First Impressions
Yesterday on Social Media we mentioned first impressions in weddings, and decided that maybe we should elaborate a bit more for a blog post. So, here we are!
I am a strong believer that you never get your first impression back! You should leave the people you meet, or your wedding guests wanting more and excited to see what the night has to offer. We often tell our clients that your invitation or save the date should be a pre-cursor to the entire wedding and that from the moment your guests arrive, they should know whose wedding they are at. No, I don’t mean, have a neon sign that says “Antonia and James’ Wedding” unless of course, that matches the vibe and aesthetic of your big day. But I do mean, welcome your guests with passed champagne if you have a cocktail style event, or maybe with Hawaiian Leis if you are having a beach inspired soiree.
Save the Dates and Invitations are a great way to share inferred information. The style and vibe of your wedding paper can give your guests much needed clues on attire, location, and appropriate information on how formal or informal the event will be. While it is nice when the same colors and theme are used on your wedding stationery as at the actual wedding, it is not a requirement.
Be mindful of your guests, the way that you would want them to be mindful of you if the tables were turned.
